Fraction represents a part of a whole or, more generally, any number of equal parts. *NUMERATOR/ DENOMINATOR The top number tells how many parts you have. It is called "numerator" The bottom number tells how many parts it was cut into. NUMERATOR DENOMINATOR *SIMILAR AND DISSIMILAR FRACTIONS Similar fractions are fractions with the same denominator Dissimilar fractions are fraction with different denominator *How to add fraction: similar fractions 1) FIRST,add the numerators 2)then copy the denominator. Dissimilar Fractions 1) cross multiply the numbers then add 2) multiply the denominator. OR 1) First, find the LCD of the denominators. 2) Then, divide the LCD to the denominator then multiply it to the numerator. 3) Lastly, follow the rules in adding fraction with the same denominator *NOTE: don't forget to simplyfy |
