Solutions of linear equation
What is a Linear equation?
- Linear equation is a equation in the first degree-an algebraic equation in which each term is either a constant or the product of a constant and (the first power of) a single variable.
Solution- The value of the variable that makes the equation correct.
Example:
2x-1=7 5x =6+3y
Finding the solution
Transposing - Transferring one term to the other side of the equation while changing the sign.
Find x if: 2x-1=7
2X=7+1
*transpose the constant part to the other part of the equation. isolate the 'x"
2x = 8
2 2
* divide both sides by the number with the variable. by this case, divide it by 2
x=4
* Simplify
